A curated directory of genealogy resources — built for researchers
eGENEe is a free, searchable directory of genealogy and history websites and resources.
It was born of my obsession with genealogy, which began when my father passed along his research to me. Later, I joined Ancestry.com and switched from researching my lines to helping people on the Message Boards find theirs. I loved the variety and challenges they offered. To date, I have replied to or posted over 21,000 messages under “AKAeGENEe.”
In 2010 I began keeping a list of useful, reliable websites, which then became a spreadsheet, and now has become eGENEe. eGENEe currently has over 250,000 links for US websites, and that number is growing!
Note: There ARE some broken links here! Please let me know about them and I will update them as soon as I can. Also, if you know of a resource that should be listed, please use the Contact page to suggest it.
Disclaimer: The website is a search application which finds other websites. I can't guarantee the accuracy of the information on those sites. Also, some historical materials are offensive by today's standards. Their views are not my own.
Every resource is tagged with up to six attributes: access type (free, library-only, mixed, or subscription), geographic level (national, regional, or state), state, county, city, and category. You can filter by any combination of these on the Search page.
eGENEe does not collect personal information, require registration, or use tracking cookies. No account is needed to search the directory.
